For student governors to be effective, governance needs to be supportive, accessible and empowering. This can only happen where governing bodies are open to change their practice and where clerks, chairs, governors, senior leaders and support staff in colleges work together to support student governors.
This section provides practical support and guidance to colleges to make governance more accessible to student members. It provides e-learning modules which should promote debate and discussion within colleges and allow space for sharing good practice to drive up support across the sector and increase the impact and value student members have in college governance.
